A fine and rare Aesthetic Movement side cabinet, designed by E.W. Godwin (1833 – 86)
ebonized black finish over mahogany, each drawer numbered & stamped.
All original mirrors, drawer fittings and castors - the handles stamped with maker’s hallmarks.
Anglo-Japanese brass fittings and painted
Stamped to side and inside drawer;
William A & S Smee Furniture Manufacturers and Carpet Warehousemen Finsbury Pavement London.
Date marked behind the mirror - 1877
