Steven asked me for an artist statement. I have enough trouble putting titles on my work, let alone making a statement about the stuff!! Here goes anyway

The physical making of the paintings and sculptures is a major source of pleasure for me.

It would not suit me to design some thing then have technicians make it. It is not possible to know for sure if people will like what I do, so I follow the advice of my friend Bob Jenyns and "just do it."
