Despard Gallery congratulate Anne Morrison winner of the 2019 Woman’s Art Prize Tasmania and Micheila Petersfield winner of the emerging artist category.
The prize is the State’s only female art competition. Re-launced in 2018, the prize aims to inspire, faciliate and celebrate the develpoment of professional and emerging woman artists in Tasmania.
Despard Gallery have represented Anne Morrison since 2003 with her first solo show ‘Cluster’, the sensational solo exhibition ‘The Crossing’ highlighted women’s lost female stories in our Maritime History.
Micheila Petersfield was first exhibited at Despard in 2016, her extraordinary self portraits have created a strong following nationally, her new works will be part of the Young Bloods exhibition that opens on April 3rd of April.
