11 December 2024 – 1 February 2025
The Summer Show is an annual tradition at Despard Gallery, treasured by clients and artists alike. Celebrated for its creative diversity and broad appeal, the Summer Show has evolved to embody the energy and strength of our amazing artist stable. Every year we are humbled by the commitment of our artists and their enthusiasm towards every exhibition opportunity. The Annual Summer Show is clear demonstration of this creative commitment, acting as a platform to share a large selection of exciting new works. Not only does this exhibition function as a visual taster for future exhibitions and new bodies of work destined for the new year, it also provides the opportunity to introduce some new emerging talent.
We are honoured every time we get to unveil new work from our artists, taking great pride in our commitment to support emerging talent alongside established artists. This year we will be hosting a vast new selection of artworks, and in keeping with the Summer Show tradition, will encompass of a variety of mediums, themes and styles. We are very proud to represent such a strong stable of creative talent, including the opportunity to promote their work to audiences nationally and internationally. This is no truer than for our Tasmanian contingent, sharing their unique contributions to national audiences through local and interstate exhibitions, digital publications and artist videos.
This year we are celebrating the thirty-eight years at Despard Gallery and anticipate one of our most vibrant Summer Shows to date. To show our gratitude and recognise your ongoing support throughout the year, we invite you to come and enjoy our hospitality for a special opening night event Friday 13 December from 5:30 pm. In a show of appreciation, please help us raise a glass to acknowledge the efforts of all our artists and toast another successful year of exhibitions.
