With its distinctive combination of diverse creative styles, the Despard Gallery Annual Summer Show has come to represent the strength of our amazing artists. This year we have over one hundred and twenty new artworks from forty-four artists, making it one of our biggest and most vibrant Summer Shows to date. We are excited to share the many treasures that will fill the gallery this year, certain there will be something for every taste.
Across the pages of this extensive catalogue you can view key works by all participating artists, as well as read about their inspirations and creative directions. Not only does the exhibition provide a sample of new creative directions from our stable, but it also acts as a platform to introduce some new talent, as well as become reacquainted with some old friends. This year we are excited to welcome two new artists to Despard Gallery, including nationally renowned glass artist Kirstie Rea and early career Tasmanian artist Philip James Mylecharane.
