Lorraine Biggs has been announced as a finalist of the 2020 Women’s Art Prize Tasmania, with her painting, The Space Around the Turbulence.
The women’s art prize Tasmania is the state’s only female art competition. Re-launched in 2018, the prize aims to inspire, facilitate and celebrate the development of professional and emerging women artists in Tasmania.
Lorraine will be exhibiting alongside twenty-two other finalists in three locations as the exhibition tours between Launceston, Burnie and Hobart, between May 2020 and January 2021.
Winner announced Wednesday 3 April.
In 2019 the main acquisitive prize was won by Despard Gallery artist Anne Morrison. The emerging artist prize was also won by Despard Gallery artist Micheila Petersfield.
