Despard Gallery is pleased to share the latest exhibition as part of our DG Online platform, with a special release of new suite of eight works by emerging artist Ileigh Hellier.
Originally hailing from Mulubinba / Newcastle, New South Wales, now living and working in Nipaluna / Hobart, Tasmania, Hellier’s practice encompasses a range of mediums including painting, printmaking and sculpture.
Within each painting, Hellier continues her gentle exploration of the Tasmanian landscape, inspired by a personal sense of wonderment felt towards the natural world. Through soft layers of transparent colour and line, Hellier’s work captures the delicacy of the landscape, inspired by moments of weather and spaces where the horizon intersects with the sky and water.
