Congratulations to Zoe Grey, who has been awarded an arts residency at the Spitsbergen Artists Center, Svalbard. Located in one of the world’s northernmost inhabited areas, the Spitsbergen Artists Residency aims to foster a connection between artists from different countries, disciplines, and media with the high Arctic. It also promotes arts as a vehicle to draw awareness to the increasing threat of climate change and its visible impact on arctic locations and the world more broadly. Grey will be joining two other international artists for a two week residency, experiencing this unique environment through creative research with the aim of broadening her own perspective and understanding on cultural connections to place.
After the huge success of Grey’s 2022 solo exhibition, which featured paintings and drawings inspired by a residency at the Arteles Creative Center in Finland, Despard Gallery is thrilled to announce Grey’s next solo exhibition scheduled to open June 2024.
