Despard Gallery is pleased to welcome emerging Tasmanian painters Harrison Bowe and George Kennedy.
Despard Gallery is honoured every time we get to share new artists work, steered by a commitment to promote emerging talent alongside our established artists. Every year we enjoy being able to introduce standout new talent through an opportunity to exhibit work in the Annual Summer Group Show. This year we welcome Harrison Bowe and George Kennedy.
Completing his Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Tasmania in 2020, Harrison Bowe’s practice focuses on large gestural paintings that explore physical and emotive responses to the Tasmanian landscape, capturing its light and atmosphere. Recently completing his Honours at the School for Creative Arts and Media, University of Tasmania, George Kennedy uses paint to mediate the complexity of visual information in our everyday surroundings with an aim to create a new visual language through expressive, line based abstractions.
