VALUATIONS
Steven Joyce, owner and director of Despard Gallery is a 5th generation Tasmanian with over 40 years firsthand knowledge and experience in the industry. Originally trained as a jeweller Steven managed the family business E.A.Joyce and Son in Burnie that specialised in fine jewellery, decorative arts and design. In 1987 Steven relocated to Hobart where he established Despard Gallery. Continuing on with his experience in fine and decorative arts, Steven extended Despard into a contemporary art gallery with a strong focus on Tasmanian painting, sculpture and furniture.
Steven is a longstanding accredited valuer under the Australian Governments Cultural Gifts Program, with a large area of expertise including Furniture after 1900, Art Nouveau and Art Deco decorative arts, contemporary Australian fine and decorative arts, Studio Glass (twentieth century to contemporary), Australian contemporary Drawings on paper (including studies), contemporary Ceramics, Jewellery, Sculpture and Painting.

Specialising in modern and contemporary art, Director Steven Joyce has over 30 years experience in the art market that includes exporting major shows to the United States over a 10 year period. As an art consultant, Steven offers clients well informed advise and is committed to delivering the needs and desires for the experienced and novice collector alike.
