Despard Gallery is very proud to announce Zoe Grey, Milan Milojevic and Harrison Bowe have all been selected as finalists in this years Hadley’s Art Prize. Each artist has previously been selected as a finalist, with unique contributions to the contemporary landscape genre.
The Hadley’s Art Prize Hobart is one of the richest landscape art prizes in Australia, with an acquisitive prize of $100,000. The annual prize is awarded to a contemporary artist for the best portrayal of the Australian landscape. The prize is sponsored by the owner of Hadley’s Orient Hotel, Don Neil who dreamt up the idea of the prize on the 90th anniversary of the first art exhibition held at Hadley’s Orient Hotel. The Hadley’s Art Prize brings art back to the historic walls of Hadley’s Orient Hotel and celebrates the work of contemporary Australian landscape artists. The prize exposes artists to new audiences and enables emerging artists to be shown alongside established artists.
The winner will be announced at the opening of the exhibition finalists’ works hosted by the Hadley’s Orient Hotel, Hobart, on Friday 2 August. Exhibition runs from 3 – 25 August 2024.
Grey, Milojevic and Bowe are all scheduled to hold solo exhibitions in the coming months. Register your interest to preview all new works by Grey, Milojevic and Bowe via the upcoming exhibition page.
